After my successful 2005 test of music-to-light synchronization using Light-O-Rama control boards, I am very eager to implement this feature on a permanent part of the display. The idea right now is to initially sync the 20' Mega Tree, and 6-8 of the 10' trees, while the rest of the display remains static. An FM transmitter and possibly outdoor speakers would be a possibility as well.

Continues expansion of the physical display is desirable, with an area that encourages viewers to get out and walk around. However, electrical capacity limitations will hold these plans off for at least a year or two, as, even with the help we get from our neighbor, J&W Seafood, we don't have the capacity to expand much beyond 55-60,000 lights. One way to expand is to convert to LED lights. LED lights draw a fraction of the power of standard bulbs. This conversion will begin once LED lights don't cost 4-5 times the cost of standard lights!

We are planning on building a "glacier" with a waterfall in either '09 or '10. 2008's "iceburg" was a small scale experiment of the concept of how to light such a thing. I'd also like to have a lighthouse, perhaps patterned after Stingray Point or Wolftrap.
